trips with the Fish Ohio Canoe Club

This was my first introduction to the group. Run was from Girard to Youngstown B&O Station. It was great! Members were wonderful and helped with great instructions!! I learned a lot and had fun!

Thanks to Mike Danko for organizing this great practice session at Harding pool in Warren. As you can see from the images, everyone was "all in" with various practice skills from entering and exiting the kayaks to rolling, recovering and assisting others in learning and practicing good basic skills. It was a great day!

Eight paddlers met, under the guidance of Mike D, for an impromptu paddle on a beautiful day!

17 boats (16 kayaks, one canoe...) showed up for an impromptu paddle from Mill Creek to Struthers.

The water on the Little Beaver was up, so Ed organized this last minute paddle. Two canoes and 4 of those other boats made the 11-mile, 4 1/2 hour trip from Sprucevale to the Ohio River. Water level was about 4.6 feet. A fun trip!

These are some of the pictures I took while on a 48 mile, four day three night Delaware River trip. The time frame was 09/20/10--09/23/10. Two people including myself went on the canoe/camping river trip we launched from Port Jervis, NY and finished at the Gap by Kittatinny, NJ. We saw in total six fellow paddlers on the river in those four days. Talk about solitude we had our choice of any campsite and saw three Bald Eagles.
