Before coming to Canoe City!!!!

Unloading at Swift park before coming to canoe city will allow us to have all of our cars at Canoe City. We will be using the bus to shuttle us back to Swift Park with the public paddlers. This shuttle is paid for by TCT.

Parking will be tight at Canoe City; we can park across the street on the dead end road or at the field that is across from the Wagon Wheel Tavern. The access for the field is on the left side of South Leavitt Rd just on the other side of Market St.

Paddle Ohio is a program to get paddlers out and discover water ways of Ohio. This program has been around for several years and offers a lot of events.
This year the Mahoning River State Water Trail was selected for this program. The paddle is from Thomas Swift Park to Canoe City.

ODNR has partnered with Trumbull Metro Parks and Trumbull Canoe Trails to make this happen.
TCT was asked to help with this paddle by the metro parks and ODNR, and so far we have done a great job.

We are not in charge of the paddle. We are here to help guide the public, ODNR Officials & State water craft officer down the river. As Matthew Smith told me who better to help than the club who help establish the water trail!!!!

This is a great paddle for all skill levels.

(The time on their website will be changed as I already email matt to make him aware of the misprint)

ODNR Paddle July 9th

I will be paddling on this trip from Swift Park to Canoe City and hope to bring my Cousin Kate again (we were at Presque Isle on the windy 25th of June). We will drop our kayaks off at Swift Park @ 10:30, unload our gear & head to Canoe City to be there before 11:30. Looking forward to the Shuttle on the bus, too!

Hello to all members, I just got an email from Mathew Smith from ODNR. If you plan on attending the Paddle Sunday the 9th please preregister with him by emailing him.
He needs account of how many paddler will be there Sunday, for the state.

Remember to drop off all gear at Thomas Swift Park, and head to Canoe City after wards.
I would recommend no later that 11 am at Canoe City. The public should start showing up around 11:30 am

Matthew.Smith@dnr.state.oh.us

When emailing Mathew let him know you are part of TCT and have your own gear.
Thank you for your help and hope for a big turn out from the club

Mike

ODNR paddle 7/9

Mark and I are planning on attending the paddle. Will there be someone there at Swift Park to watch our gear or should one of us stay with it? Am I safe to assume that someone from ODNR or TCT will be at Swift Park directing paddlers with their gear?

See you tomorrow.

Kathy Murtha
