Historical CFM @ Shenango below dam

As we paddled down the Shenango Sunday we heard stories of paddling this section at flood stage.

ref: Sunday's paddle was a normal 4.79 ft (102 cfm)

Saturday June 22, 2014 the gauge was around 6.50 ft & 800+ cfm.

Is this the date of the story?

Same year not sure of date. Our first paddle with the club was the picnic of 2014.
It seemed a lot higher than that.

6.5 to 6.9 ft range.

There were several high water spikes between 2014 & 2023. All were in the range of 6.5 to 6.9 ft. Maybe all the gates were opened?

This would still qualify as a raging river in my book. ---KenM

I'll have to keep this in mind next time I do the Shenango river watchers paddlefest. The army corps of engineers opens the dam for those paddles I'll have to remember to check the gage and see where it's at then

SRW paddle

For the SRW event the gauge comes up 5-6". That makes for a nice lively paddle.
