Mahoning River Chilly Chili Run- Canoe City
When- Sunday December 11th Where-Canoe City Metro Park 107 N Leavitt RD, Leavittsburg OH 44430 GPS 41.241135, -80.881393 Time-11 AM You know it is December when it is time for the umpteenth annual Chilly Chili Run. Last chance for all you canoeist and kayakers "nuts? to get out for one last official trip before the end of the year. We will gather at the CANOE CITY METROPARK starting around 11am and set up the area for our chili feast and get a fire going. After setup we will head up to Swift Metro park for the 3.6-mile flat water float back to Canoe City for the chili and other goodies. Last year we had great weather with temps in the lower 60's, it is safe to say I can't promise that again. Hope to see a good turn out for a fun event. We will our fourth and final short meeting after the paddle. Mike Danko |

So far we are a GO!!!
We have two pots of Chili,( Rich & Patty, and Jeff) One pot of Sloppy Joes (Sue) I will bring our box that has all bowls plates and utensils. Also two small tables and extinction cords and fire wood I will also bring my dads pop up Tent. Zack is kind enough again to allow us to use the garage for the food and electricity. Hot Cider
I HOPE to be there, but there is still a small chance I may have to take my mother elsewhere. I will bring a gallon of hot cider with mulling bags (like tea bags) if I can make it.

Well, this was a fun afternoon even though I didn't paddle. I thought it was probably more important (like the bulk of the group) to stay behind and guard the food. The snow was a nice touch although the roads for me going back home were very slippery.
