August 27 th run

On Saturday August 27 I will be leading the trip from Rotary Park on First Street in Newton Falls. We will meet at the park at 10:00 for the shuttle to the baseball fields at the ?Center Of The World?. Mike and I carved out a canoe trail a couple of weeks ago and although it may be a little twisty with a few snags and very tight most of us should be able to get through without any problems.
If anyone would like to meet up at 9:00 or so for coffee and donuts before the run @ The Donut Shop (catchy name huh?) at 327 South Milton Blvd . (Rt. 534)
I?m told that a good population of 40 inch plus muskies are in this section of the river and smallmouth bass as well, so fishing is not out of the question.
Please contact me at 330-297-5042 or my cell at 330-389-3328 .
P.S. don?t forget bug spray

See you at the Donut Shop!
John

It has come to my attention that Rotary Park in Newton Falls does not show up on Google Maps. I went over yesterday and got the address for the recycling center across the street. (1536 1st. St. Newton falls Ohio ) This should work for you .
I gave Aaron the owner of The Donut Shop and he's kind of expecting us to fill up his parking lot. well see ya tomorrow.

Many thanks to John Little for leading today's trip down the Mahoning, starting below the Newton Falls dam. And huge thanks to John and Mike for earlier clearing a passage through the many deadfalls in that section. All the twists and turns through the strainers made for a really fun and interesting trip on a gorgeous late summer day. A few pictures of the adventure are posted on User Albums.

Checked out the pics, looks like you guys had a good time. Have to trade in this "sometimes runs" boat and motor for something I don't have to rebuild the carbeurator on once a year.

Thanks John & Mike for clearing the trail last week & leading the trip yesterday. It was great to re-meet those of you I had met once before & to start to get to know the rest of you!
