Mill Creek at Allegheny River Campsite

Hi, new member here. I tried searching for this, but couldn't find anything relevant.

There is what has been described as an excellent primitive camping spot about 2/3 of the way between Kennerdell and Emlenton on the Allegheny River, right where Mill Creek comes in.

I saw in another forum a post from a few years ago that there are now No Trespassing signs around this area, and some people have campers set up. However, when I use the Venango County Parcel Viewer website, this property seems to be owned by the same folks that own the Allegheny River Trail that follows the river.

Has anyone used this area to camp recently? Is there still a good camping spot there, or is it indeed all marked as No Trespassing?

Thanks very much.

That whole area along Mill Creek used to be well used by the locals for hiking and camping. The area right on the river, where the big sand bar beach is from the mouth of Mill Creek was used by locals for camping and keg parties for years. Now it's posted as belonging to some sportsmens club, with no trespassing signs all over. I haven't actually seen people out there to enforce, but it is posted. I suppose you take your chances.

But there are islands all over that section. There's a couple like 1/4 mile down from Mill Creek, as long as the water isn't really high. Those islands are considered public property I believe.

Here is the Mill Creek camping area with the new improvements. Never any signs.
