Drownings on Beaver Creek

It breaks my heart to read this.

I was down at there on Friday, riding my bike on the rail trail. I stopped at the dam and was amazed at how scary the recirc boil looked. Nothing but a drowning machine.

This dam needs to come out. It serves absolutely no purpose. And now two people are dead.

Three are dead. So sad. I've always wanted my kids and now grandkids to wear their PFDs on land when they are near a river bank. But I've learned a lesson from this. I need to wear my PFD also in case I would have to go in fast after someone else. Its usually the first thing I remove when I get on shore. Perhaps not now. This is just so incredibly sad.
