By tomorrow the day will already be getting longer! I heard on the radio that Dec 22 will be TWO seconds longer than today. Enjoy the extra daylight!

I don't think Ken meant to offend any Pagans . . .

Interesting that you have to try and defend Ken's insensitive remark while he does nothing. Perhaps a more appropriate response would be "Ken was wrong" rather than "Lighten up Frances".

I really wasn't trying to defend Ken, as I am really struggling to find anything offensive about his remark. My point was more to help you see that Ken was trying to be humorous, not taking time out of his day to offend. As for my meme ... Sgt Hulka was the first thing to come to mind, and seemed the most fitting for the situation. I even took a minute to ponder, "Will Sgt Hulka be offensive?". But the Sergeant too is humorous, in case that needs pointed out. We're all probably a bit of tree hugger by the nature of our common hobby - maybe some more than others. And maybe Ken is a Chevy guy; I'm OK with that. And those darn Pagans ... well don't even get me started on them (humor again). My point here is sometimes humor does not convey well in the written medium, but sometimes people are too ready to be offended. So I've said all this at the risk, of course, of further offending; which Jodi tells me I will likely have done. So I will apologize now for anybody who may take offense. Bob, I love you man. And Ken, I love you too man. And this reminds me of another famous quote ...

you boys need to chill. There are people in this world that celebrate solstice.
Our observance this year consisted of a visit to a county park that has a good view of the horizon where we could watch the sun set. Too cloudy to see sunrise. Remember, now we are on our way to Spring. Joyous solstice! Happy New Year! Cheryl

Ken, you did not offend Bob K. The point was that you made light of the beliefs of others and offended those who identify as Pagans. Your light blue edit post should be addressed to Pagans, not BK.
