Canoeing with the Cree

Just finished reading Canoeing with the Cree, Eric Sevareid's account of a 2,250 canoe trip from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay, with his friend Walter Port in 1930 when they were still teenagers. It was an amazing accomplishment considering their age and inexperience. It's definitely worth a paddler's time to pick up this book and learn about their successes and mishaps during their four-month adventure.

I'll second John-Paul's recommendation on this book. I read it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. It is a good adventure story with a canoe tripping theme. Kind of amazed me what a couple of 18 year-olds had the courage to do!
