Water level = good

Cheryl and I have done this trip several times. It's one of our favorites. Shenango River Watchers does a fantastic job with this event.

I don't know if this is common knowledge but if you watch the river gage you will see that it goes up about 5-6" for this event. Since this event started there seems to have been some (unmentioned) cooperation between SRW, DNR and the dam keeper to release a bit of extra water for a few hours. This makes for a nice lively current.

Alas, Cheryl and I can't make it this time. We will be doing a float on the Kokosing River with a group from ODNR. We've never managed to paddle on the Kokosing so I am looking forward to that trip.

We're planning on coming. This will be our only paddle this year other than the picnic. Mark is scheduled for rotator cuff surgery July 11th. We'll see you at the launch at 9am. If we're not coming we will call you.

What a great paddle that was put on by the Shenango River Watchers. We met at PV Dam. Paddle eight plus miles to Greenville.
I got to talk to Hugh and at the last time I saw him they estimate 400 paddlers for this trip.
By far the most they had.

TCT had a good showing for a side trip. At my last count at total of 15 TCT Members
We had a group of eight paddle (plus one k9) together. Bob D, Mark V,Jason M, Mark & Kathie in Kayaks. Jim B and Tori, Jessica, & Me in two Canoes.

We also had smaller groups of,
Tom Peters family (wife & Son)

Eric & Zack

Ken & Cheryl Who came after all but we just saw as we were already in the water and Cheryl was waiting for Ken from the shuttle.

Temps in the upper 80's water level was the lowest I have paddled this section at 4.77 ft USGS gauge at dam.
