Today we’ll hope for a balmy afternoon for our penultimate (second to last) paddle of the season. Because this is in partnership with Mill Creek MetroParks, participants will be required to sign a park waiver. Below is the Park’s official description:

Bring your own boat for our last kayak trip of the season. Participants must be at least 18 and sign a waiver. Weather dependent. Offered in partnership with Trumbull Canoe Trails. Free, but please register at Wick Recreation Area, 330.740.7114 X 282 by 10/31.

I set this up with my former Park colleague, who also hopes to attend.

Forecast for Saturday is sunny with high of 49 F.

Directions to Launch-
Depending were you are coming from find Shields Rd in Boardman, OH.
-Once on Shields Rd head toward Mill Creek Metro Park.
-Look for East Newport Drive.
-From the Corner of Shields and East Newport Dr.
-Follow East Newport Dr. 1.5 Miles North.
-The Launch will be on your left

Has anyone been able to connect with the Wick Recreation Area on the phone ? I've tried numerous times on different days and different times of the day, and nobody's home. Is registering with them mandatory for this paddle ?

Our facebook page gave the number 330 740 7114 ext 282. I had no trouble calling at noon yesterday.
