First time

This will be our first trip with you, do we let you know that we will be making the trip or just show up?

Ambridger 03-20-2019 01:35 AM

Generally, just show up. Sometimes you may see a trip posted that asks for an RSVP, as there may need to be special arrangements made for parking / shuttles / post-paddle reservations ... Anyways, looking forward to seeing you out there.

I know I love it when members post on the forum if they are coming or not.

When I first joined everyone would post if they were coming. It always helps the trip leader have an idea how many to expect

Lets break some ice Mike

Planning to see you all there. Looks like another great day for our first "official" club run.

Ken...definite maybe

I'm not too proud to say that low 50's temp & cold water (not to mention wind & water conditions) make me think twice about early spring paddling... and if I'm properly equipped.

Right now (Friday) Sunday looks doable for me. Maybe 48-52 deg, sunny? not much wind, flat water and not a long paddle.

Hope to see the "gang" there but I will re-consider Sunday morning.

Since there doesn't seem to be any actual "ice" involved, I'm in. It will be my 1st club trip.

Ambridger 03-23-2019 11:45 AM

We plan to be there. Not sure if both will paddle.

Paddle Review

On sunday March 24 we had our ice breaker paddle. With the temps in the mid 50's we had a huge turn out for the first paddle of the year.

We had 28 paddlers in 24 boats.(16 Kayaks, & 8 Canoes)

The river was clear and had a nice current. The USGS levels were 2.64 ft at Sharpsville and 5.9 ft at New Castle.

It was really nice to get to meet Dan and see his beautiful wenonah racing canoe.

We also had several new faces at the paddle and it was nice to get to meet new member and put faces with names. Only bad part is I will forget there name but remember what they paddled

Thanks to all who can and to Joel Beeghly for helping with the shuttle.

Mike
