French Creek- Utica to Franklin PA-Trip Leader Mike Danko

You know it is spring when French Creek is up next on the trip schedule.

This year will be a little different as our usual trip leader Ed Rigby is unable to attend.

We will still meet at the Franklin fish and boat commission launch. From there we will shuttle up to Utica with few vehicle?s as possible and enjoy a nice paddle down French Creek.

French Creek is about an 11-mile flat water paddle with a nice current. There is one ledge drop that makes a nice short rapid at our lunch spot.

The recommended water level by the western pa canoe guide is 1.6ft up to 5.5ft at USGS gauge in Meadville PA.

Bring a pack lunch and dress according to weather forcast.

Hope for a nice turn out just like years past.
