Ken + canoe

I plan to come with the classic Grumman canoe.

JP three questions...

Is Bob tough enough to do Jodi's job?
Will Bob expect someone else to give him a canoe ride? AND let him paddle?

And the shuttle... Hummmm.... We need to get Mike to try that!

Yes, this was a good trip. Current was really moving! I have to say though that the first time I did this run (May 2015) the gauge was at 3.2 ft. I thought that trip was nicer even if I did find a...

Grimms gage 5-26-18 12 noon 3.49 ft (368 cfs)

Ref: Grimms gage 5-26-18 12 noon was 3.49 ft (368 cfs).

On 5-24-18 12 noon (when I scouted) Grimms gage was 589 (3.99 ft) and declining slowly. Middle Fork was low but looked doable in...

Last year's (2018) trip

I "tried" to do this trip last year (2018). Be aware that this is NOT an organized with a shuttle as you might expect with an event listed on a county park website. I was unable to contact a trip...

Elastic deck cords & perimeter ropes

As recreational kayakers we would primarily use elastic deck cords to stow some gear for handy access. When using a paddle and float to attempt a deep water re-entry the elastic deck cords are...

Re-entry is HARD!

My experience is... Getting back into your kayak is hard AND exhausting! You need to do a pool (or warm lake) session to find out just how difficult it is.

A few years ago K & C took our 10ft...

Solo canoe choices?

So if you were going to buy a solo canoe (for our creeks and rivers)... what would it be?

Good maneuverability, handling, lighter weight. Is there such a boat?

I'm not too proud to say that low 50's temp & cold water (not to mention wind & water conditions) make me think twice about early spring paddling... and if I'm properly equipped.

Right now...
