If you come with us on Sunday, you will notice some construction going on in Harpersfield. They have started work replacing the dam, which was apparently in worse shape structurally then it looked and was expected to fail within a few years. The new dam is also going to be a new sea lamprey barrier/trap. Below are a couple links to the project is anyone is interested. I found it very interesting when I searched last winter to see why the construction barriers were suddenly there.

FYI, this construction won't affect our paddle & the Lake Metroparks is still having their annual race on this same section on Saturday as well. This is just in case any one was interested like I was about what they are doing.
