Paddling Friends,
The club trip on the Cuyahoga from both River Bend to Tannery Park and Tannery Park to Waterworks Park is cancelled for today. It will be rescheduled.
While the water level is dropping from 1,200 cfs as of 6:00 a.m., the
hourly weather forecast shows an 80 to 100 percent probability of rain and thunder between now and 6:00 p.m. suggesting that the river level could once again begin to rise.
My regrets for canceling the trip, but it seems the prudent thing to do. For a little perspective, Crooked River Adventures, the outfitter that rents canoes and kayaks at Tannery Park, stops renting boats when the water level exceeds 700 cfs, according to one of its employees whom I spoke to on Friday.
I hope to see everyone who planned to attend today when the trip is rescheduled.
