Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, TCTC members journeyed down the Clarion from Gravel Lick to Mill Creek. The weather all weekend was pleasant, with cool nights camping under the stars and warm days on the water. The water level was a little low, but not unexpected. We did have a few incidents of paddlers getting stuck in certain areas, however no carnage that I recall. The shuttle between the two launches wasn't too bad, but as Kristen learned, I only had researched the drive "to" the take-out, not so much the drive back to the put-in. Curt and his family were wonderful hosts at Linger Longer Lodge, which was situated right along the river, and just a moments drive from the put-in. After the paddle, we returned to the lodge for dinner, and then some of us went to the park to enjoy a festive musical performance on the stage at the campground. Something to keep in mind .... a few members found the local gas stations had run out of gas during the busy holiday weekend, and the campground at the park was sold-out of spots well in advance. Thanks again to Curt for hosting, and all the members who came out this weekend.
