This weekend's Allegheny Camping Change
Because of the forecast of a hot weather on Sunday we are shorting the length of the trip to 15 miles from Kennerdell to Emlenton with primitive camping midway. The new meeting location is on the bridge in Kennerdell at 10:00am on Saturday. This is the most wild and beautiful section.

Let's paddle !
Boats are washed and waxed and loaded on car. Always amazes me how much weight you end up with for just a one night trip. Hope there's still water in the creek by the time we get there. -Ken

Nice!
Fun in the sun. Cheryl, Ken, Wendy, John, Jim R., Brian and myself had a great camping weekend. We took advantage of one of the nicest rivers PA has to offer this time of the year.
It allowed paddles to gain experience both with camping and to get some time in their boat. Looking forward to a TCT unofficial overnighter which may be a fall run from Franklin to Emlenton to view the changing of the leaves in mid October. |

Photos added for Allegheny Overnight

My favorites...The shot from the lunch stop and the morning fog at camp. What a nice weekend for Ken and Cheryl. I was glad to get off the water around noon on Sunday though. With a beastly hot sun and temps in the upper 80's that was good timing. I managed to lose my $20 sunglasses. They are either in Jimbo's truck or dropped at the Kennerdell parking area. I think Wendy and John had a good experience for their very first overnight trip. Wendy.... email me if you can and I'll send you your photo. I put in a notice to web admin but don't know if/when he might respond. I suggest you sign in again with a simple "river name" and see if that works. KenM |
