Another group with local trips
I was searching for info on water levels for the Ashtabula River and found a link to this club, the Ohio Historical Canoe Route Association. Looks like they paddle in NE OH, and have an upcoming trip on the Cuyahoga.
Always good to know about more paddling opportunities! http://ohcra.org/default.htm Steve Z PS never did find any gauge correlations for Ashtabula River - anyone have any info? |

I know Ashtabula very well. There is no Gauge for it.
You must use the Conneaut Gauge, and go about a half a foot lower than it. There is a painted gauges at the Dewey rd. Cover Bridge that I always stop and look at. Many drops with a natural slide. All Class I and II's from Greenhill Rd to the Ford. Just over 4 miles From the Ford to Indian valley Park is 3 miles of more class with one or two class II Paddle Zero on USGs is 1.3 At the level it is doable but a lot of scraping and bumping. Best Levels are 1.7 up to 3.5 ft Mike Danko |

Get me 1500 dollars and I'll get you a river level. Or if there is a starbucks or Mcdonalds near by to use there free wifi then 900 would work...
