Trip Leaders: Ken & Cheryl When: Sunday June 27, 2021 Launch time : 1:00 pm Launch site: StarkParks boat ramp Address: 14514 Price Street NE, Alliance Oh 44601 GPS 40.975 -81.129 Google map link: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.974598,-81.1225075,16z Directions: From Deerfield, Oh at the intersection of SR 225 & SR 224..........Follow SR 224 & SR 225 WEST 2.5 miles to yellow flasher and turn LEFT (south) on SR 225........Go SOUTH on SR 225 for 3.5 miles.......Just after passing over Berlin Lake (at the airport) turn RIGHT onto Price Street........Cross over the bridge and continue WEST on Price Street for 1.0 mile. You will see Deer Creek Reservoir on your left. The park entrance is just beyond on the left. Join us for a leisurely paddle around Deer Creek Reservoir. This is our favorite local paddling spot. There are no buildings around the lake and the shoreline here is nearly all forested so the lake has a nice wilderness feel. It's a good place for birds and other wildlife sightings. We will paddle about 4 miles of shoreline and will include the ever popular "hidden tunnel". This 300 acre reservoir was built in 1954 for the water supply for Alliance, Oh. No gas engines are allowed. It's a popular lake with local paddlers. The park area around the lake is operated by Stark County Parks (Starkparks.com). The reservoir is not used for flood control so is not subject to the draining and flooding like many of our larger lakes. The water level remains fairly consistent year round. Note: There are restrooms at the parking area. Last edited by KenM; 06-20-2021 at 08:47 PM. |

A hot and Breezy day ?
It looks to be a hot (89 deg) day and possibly breezy afternoon?? Hard to guess about the wind but with it being so warm it might feel good? We will try to stay along the shore (in the shade) as much as we can
Solo canoe? We will be happy to load you with a bunch of rocks for some added ballast if it's breezy! ---KenM |

Yes, but...
I'm going to show up, but the wind might keep me off the water even with rocks in the bow.
