Shenango River, July 21, 6pm
Please note time change!!!
As I said in the news letter, we have to move down river a bit because of construction on the new bridge in West Middlesex. We will meet at the launch in Pulaski, on Rt.208 by the bridge, then shuttle cars down to the Mc Quiston launch on Nashau road. This is going to be a fairly short run, less than 5 miles, so I moved the start time back a little to make it more of a evening paddle. The water levels looked good yesterday, but this is a flat section and the trip will be leisurely. After the run, we could stop at the Brew 32/ Nova Cellars winery for refreshments. It's about a mile up the road. gps 41.113106 - 80.436231

This was a great float. The weather turned out to be perfect, not too hot - not too cool, and we never saw rain. Float was about 4 miles, just right according to my butt. River had a nice, friendly current that carried us along - gauge at West New Castle was 6.02. Thanks Ed for a nice evening paddle.

What a great evening paddle from Pulaski to McQuiston Boat Ramp.
Many thanks to Ed Rigby for leading this trip. Great turn out, 14 Paddlers & 1 doggy, 12 Boats (9 Kayaks, 3 Canoes). Total mileage was 3.9 miles with a easy current of 3.2 mph. That section is so isolated and full of wildlife and scenic views. A must do for anyone looking for a easy and relaxing paddle. USGS Gauge at Sharpsville 2.89, New Castle 6.02 Thanks again for leading the trip Ed. Mike
