August 5th, Mahoning River
A week from this Sunday, we will be embarking on the mighty mahoning, starting at the bottom of the Rose Garden in Mill Creek Park, for the people that don't know where we are launching from once you are in the parking lot of the Rose Garden their are two way out. One takes you out to mahoning ave or the other end of the parking lot drops you down in the park, once you are at the bottom make a left and at the bend their is a dirt area under the Mahoning Ave. Bridge that where we are meeting to launch, Be their at 9am SHARP, and drop your boat off and take your vehicle to Lowellville park near or around Carchetti's in the center of town, we still have to shuttle around the damn in Struthers, but it should be easy, bring a lunch, for those that are wondering with the lack of water, the river has gotten narrower and faster, the damn in struthers is working in our favor. Any and all questions are welcome, 330-720-8074
Chuck I think I will be contacting the local new to see if they can film us launching, so huge turn out be great? |

If anyone needs, the put in GPS is
41.101542, -80.672244 It is off Price rd that comes out of Mill Creek Park and that same rd is also labeled as todd ave coming from town. The Take out in Loweville is on West Water St (GPS 41.036970, -80.537296 ) I hope to make this run so I can help chuck, but might have to leave town for a family member who might pass away. radio
Earlier this week I called the Dan Rivers Show, 570 WKBN,when they were takling about the river and put a plug in for our club and the run on Sunday. Tomorrow I will be a guest caller on the Outdoor Show at 7am and will be talking to Larry Ward about the club and the trip on Sunday. Listen in at about 7:15 and see how much I screw-up and how nervous I sound!!!

Ed, relax and take comfort in knowing that you have the perfect face for radio.
Good Luck.
