Car camping is at designated camping sites both state and privately owned. They have toilets, showers, fire rings and rules. Primitive river camping has no toilets, showers or rules.

Here is the ANF info for the Clarion dispersed campsites mentioned.
http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/alleg...=6140&actid=24 Note that the new restrooms at Robin Island were finished last year. Check the roadside info board at the mouth of Millstone Creek for a map showing where the campsites are. Also, note that if the dispersed campsites are full (it happens - they're free after all) that there is a great riverside campsite (boat in/hike in only) between Arroyo and Irwin Run, right at 'Y' rapid. Thanks everyone.
Got another one for you: Any suggestions for what trip would be good for us (one year experience) to start with? This winter we invested in water repellent clothes? Not dry suits but should keep us somewhat dry. |

I think ,you would be fine on all the trip we have scheduled, Mosquito Creek is all flat water, Racoon creek I don't know about but Bruce and Diane do it in a canoe. Beaver Creek is a good one and long as you have you skirts and you new gear you will be ok.
