I just saw this on the TRPC website, thought some people here might be interested... (I don't know anything about it other that what is here).

2012 Connoquenessing Creek Clean-up Celebration

10 mile stretch from Butler Area to Zelienople (Butler County Line)
Saturday September 22th at 8am
Meeting Location: Seneca Valley HS parking lot
Presented By: Allegheny Aquatic Alliance

Join us in protecting our local waterways. Connoquenessing Creek is polluted with tires, old appliances, and garbage. Our goal is to return this valuable, natural resource to its beautiful healthy state. Celebration with music and food afterwards.

We Need Your Support!! The success of this clean-up project relies on people like YOU

Volunteers: Many, Many People
Sponsors: Monetary or Supply Donations
Supplies: Trucks, Non-motorized Boats/Canoes, Trailers, Water Coolers, Hip Waders, Pry bars/Digging Bars, Rope, Chains, 1st aid kits, tarps, shovels, etc.

All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, free meal from Jackson Fish Co., and are invited to the Thank you celebration after the cleanup (around 5pm) for live music, food, and fun!

Volunteers will be meeting at Seneca Valley High School at 8am and then transported by Myers Bus Co. to their assigned cleaning area.
