Default Lowellville Project

I recieved this Email today from the Mayor of Lowellville,

DEFAMAIL@epa.state.ohio.us. is the address to use to throw support to the

city of lowellville and their plan to modify the low head dam, address is

Ohio Epa-Sets;

P.O. Box 1049

Columbus, Ohio 43216-1049

I also emailed him the video of buck creek and he wanted to know if he could

put it on the city's web site, and If I had any more information to let him know.

Nevermind the Lower Mahoning was exciting before, well it just might get a

little more lol. Seriously In your life time did you ever think that they would

ever clean up the Mahoning? Well I hope to have the support from everyone and

everyone you know and strangers to lol, on this matter thanks.

See on the water

Chuck

Default 1983 Published View of Mahoning River

Just got a 1983 version of Western Pa streams. Quoting from this book on page 92 about the Mahoning River - "This stream is so dirty and ugly, it is not worth canoeing. It is one of the most polluted streams in the U.S. and no one is trying to clean it up."

I for one am glad to be a small part of the wonderful turn around in the fortunes of this great resource!

Default bike trail

I have sent my e-mail of support on the dam project and I made sure to mention the bike trail that runs along the river. I think this enhances the value of this section of the Mahoning River. There are not many places where you can pedal and paddle the same section in a day. I think Lowellville has a chance to become a recreation destination in the area with these two assets.
So mention the bike trail if sending a support letter, it could help even more.
