Mahoning/Beaver Rivers-
McKinney Russell To Bevington Boat Launch Trip Leaders- Tom Smith & Mike Danko When- Sunday September 26th Where-Coverts Crossing (McKinney Russell Boat Access Area) 586 Brewster Rd, New Castle, PA 16102 to Wampum PA 16157 (Bevington Boat Access Area) No address GPS: Put in (Covert)- 40.996313, -80.415215 Take out (Wampum)- 40.895376, -80.339753 Time-11am Rapids-Multiple class 1’s Distance 10 miles This 10 mile Journey will take us to the end of the Mahoning River and into the Beaver River. The Beaver River is formed by the confluence of the Mahoning & Shenango Rivers. This section has multiple class I Rapids and is very scenic with several bridges we will pass under. We will stop at Shaw's Island for lunch and maybe look around at the possibility in the future for an overnight trip on Shaw's Island. Our shuttles are run the same pretty much every paddle. Only the drivers go to the take out and a few cars return to the put in with those drivers.
