Default Shenango Re-Do Oct. 27th

Looks like nice weather next Sunday so I thought we could try the West Middlesex run again. Let's meet at the launch by 11am and try to be on the water by noon. Should be low and slow but it will still be chilly so cold water precautions in order.
West Middlesex boat launch, Penn Ave
Oct. 27 11am until 3pm
7 miles to Pulaski with a short break
stop at Brew 32/ Nova Cellars afterwards optional

Default nice day

Thanks everybody for coming to the Shenango River run today. 11 paddlers in 9 kayaks and 2 canoes had a beautiful almost cloudless and windless day on the river. The river was low but running nicely and we finished in about 3 and a half hours with a stop. There was still some color in the trees (brown's a color), but mostly they were down. Seen one eagle!
Gotta say stunning to see JP in a new / used canoe! A Bell Yellowstone.

Many thanks to Ed Rigby for leading us down seven miles of the Shenango from West Middlesex to Pulaski. It was a gorgeous day with an aura of autumn glow on the river, living up to the trip’s designation as a ’fall colors run.’

And, yes, the Bell Yellowstone canoe is awesome. It’s a joy to paddle and can turn on a dime. Many thanks to Bud Glendening for encouraging me to try it and not selling until I finally test paddled it in September on Lake Arthur. Within two to three strokes, I knew that I wanted the canoe.
