Default Mahoning River fishing

I was wondering if anyone has floated the river from Youngstown to Lowellville yet? I'm ready to go but with all the rain and high water I'm thinking there are a lot of areas that are still clogged up. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

Check with Chuck Miller on the Mahoning River Paddling, Restoration Group on Facebook. He is most knowledgeable on current conditions for that stretch of the Mahoning. Please be aware of the dangers of low head dams if you are new paddler. Be sure to ask him whether the open slots at the Struthers Dam are safe at current levels and whether there is wood in any of them. Also ask about any wood in the open slot in the Lowellville Dam.
