Default Beaver Creek shuttle trail

Pulled out of work a bit early Thursday and headed down to paddle the section of Beaver Creek between the Mill and the group camp at Sprucevale.

Had a nice trip, with a great water level. Saw a bunch of wildlife, including a bald eagle. And got in a nice little surf session on the wave above Sprucevale.

The bad part of the day was the hike back up Vondergreen Trail to the Mill. I've done this in years past, but not in the last two years. The trail is in HORRIBLE shape - overgrown with nettles and weeds over my head for a half mile, huge stretches of horse crap swamp, trees and branches down everywhere. It took over 2.5 hours to hike 3.3 miles, ending in the dark. A word to the wise - wait until fall if you're going to try this shuttle route.

Took my camera with me Thursday, and actually took some non-GoPro video of a little surf at Piano wave, just above Sprucevale.

When this wave is in you can park at Sprucevale (the group camping area) and carry upstream about 1/4 mile for a quick park'n'play.
