Default Allegheny Camping

CANCELLED
Due to high water levels milli has cancelled the event

Allegheny River (Shuttle Required)
Trip Leader-Milli Sass
24 July Paddling on Allegheny River

Saturday 24 July, leaving from Millie's cabin by 10am. Paddling approx 11 miles to Tionesta. Stopping mid-way for lunch.

The official postal address of my cabin on Google Maps is 24 Riverview Drive.
Directions to Cabin:
Turn off Route 62 four miles south of Tidioute. Bronzeback Lane (a rather rough road on the river side of Route 62) goes down a small hill and meets up with Riverview Drive - turn left (south) at the bottom of the hill and go about 1/2 mile past camp-ground trailers, to reach my cabin. You can also take Terrace Lane that is a bit farther south on Route 62, turning right at the bottom of the hill and also some rough spots!
Call 412 251 6689 if you get lost.

More information:
WHEN:

Friday 23 July for early arrivals

Saturday 24 July for other arrivals and the river trip itself.

WHERE:

4 miles south of Tidioute bridge on the east shore;
24 Riverview Drive Tidioute PA 16351
GPS
41.630342, -79.402486
launching in front of my cabin.

TIMING:

8am on Saturday 24 July -- Shuttle leaving my cabin to drop off vehicles at Tionesta lighthouse

Water Trip:

10am on Saturday 24 July -- Launch and pass Hickory bridge - maybe stop for lunch there (4 miles), take out beside Tionesta lighthouse. That should be a total of 11 miles. We need to be on the water by 10am on Saturday 24 July because the wind can be a nuisance if we start later.

LOGISTICS:
Plan to arrive on the evening of Friday 23 July or early (no later than 8am) on Saturday 24 July in order to shuttle vehicles. I can offer some accommodation for Friday night -- nothing fancy. There is a canoe shed that can be emptied out to sleep a few and I have a 3-person tent. My lot is 1/2 acre, so there is room for a few trucks, RVs, and tents. There is also a pull out settee in the cabin that can be used.
FEATURES of my cabin: electricity, one flush toilet, shower, fridge, old fire-ring of sorts. There is running water, but I do not drink it. You will need to bring water for drinking and cooking if you plan to make breakfast.

Please let me know if you plan to attend by calling me and talking about arrangements. Picture of the cabin is attached.
