Talking 2013 Beaver Creek

This year?s Beaver Creek run will be from Sprucevale to the Ohio River. This trip is about 12 miles long. We will meet at Sprucevale at 10:30 am

Sprucevale is part of the Beaver Creek State park; also known as the Group Campgrounds or the Primitive camping area.
I could not find a exact address, but it is on Sprucevale Rd/ County Rd 428, The GPS location is 40.70586, -80.580351
It is very close to the Equestrian Camp. The address for this camp is
12816 Sprucevale Road
East Liverpool, OH 43920

Our take out is at a park on the corner of Calcutta Rd and Midland Rd in PA. Here is a nice ramp for easy take out, restrooms and a pavilion.

Please pack a lunch as we will stop near grimms bridge for lunch and relax for a few.
Beaver Creek has several small class 1 rapids and two Class 2 rapids. The first is at Fredericktown?s, the easiest way threw is to go river right and go through a chute. The other is dead man?s turn, requires some good steering and a small ledge drop as well.

The lowest I am willing to paddle this section is 3ft, I would love to do it between 4 & 5 ft.

If any questions please email me at

What a Great Trip, Thank you to everyone who came and to Sam's mom for helping with the shuttle and also to Steve and the use of his van.

16 total people with 3 canoe's and 12 kayaks.
We had piece of carnage at Fredericktown. No names will be given out Mary After Chuck Miller paddled up to her and I swam down the rapid which was more fun than I realized it would be. We got Mary unstuck and back in her kayak.
Thanks to Ron & Stan for giving me a tow to my boat, I just was surprised how tired I got of swimming again the current in colder water. I was told by other member that watching was a good lesson to see how fast I got tired.
After that we kept going and had just a great paddle down to the Ohio River.

Again thanks to all and hope to see everyone on the water
