French Creek-Sunday May 1st CANCELLED

After talking to Franklin fire department, several members, looking at forecast and radars, I am going to play it safe and CANCEL.

I would hate to drive and hour plus just to run into thunderstorms.

I will try to reschedule as a side trip later this year.

Sorry for any inconvenience but I would hate to see anything happen to anyone, or have a miserable paddle

Well I was WAY wrong on today. I apologize to all. Next time I will have to wait to the morning of the event to pull the trigger.

Considering that it takes us about 2 hours to get up there, and time to gather up our gear and load the boat, . . . In light of the forecast, we were writing this one off too. Didn't want to blow the time / money to make the drive, only to find bad conditions. Given the forecast, seemed OK to pull the plug on this one. We got some yard work done between rain showers, and paddled a little yesterday at the Marianna Outdoors Canoe Race down in Washington County, PA. See you all at the next one.
