Default Tionesta Trip 3/27/10

The first run of the year is Kelletville to Tionesta Bridge. The run is about 11 miles, we will meet at Kelletville Bridge/Campground at 11:00 am. Be prepared for cold water conditions (water temp is about 35 degrees), the temperature up that way runs about 5 - 10 degrees colder than our temps. Be prepared ande be safe. Lets have a good run. I have a camp up in that area if anyone wants to come and pitch a tent for the weekend let me know.

Default Tionesta Creek

I stopped at Sheffeild on March 18th to check out Tionesta Creek. It looked pretty good for canoeing or kayaking from there. From the Kelletville bridge down to the Nabraska bridge the water is pretty gentle. There is a campsite available at the Kelletville bridge for tents if any one wants to stay there also.
There are usually eagles along this creek. Watch in the trees above you.

For those of you that need directions, use this link below and enter in your address at the left and click the "Get Directions" button. For some reason the Interactive Map on the website is not working. I have to check into it.

I'll be up to paddle on Saturday, camp that night and paddle another section on Sunday, Mayburg to Kellettville. Might go up farther if we can get an early start and the hangover isn't too bad !!!

Unhappy

Sorry I couldn't make it. I picked a bad cold on thursday and still fighting it today. I thought I might be smart to stay home instead of taking a risk of getting worse

See you on the river for beaver creek

Default Tionesta trip

Thanks also to God for an exceptional day on the water. We all enjoyed paddling in the clear, green/blue water of the tionesta creek, under a sunny blue sky. Quiet conversations amongst our group in those spectacular surroundings equated to a memorable trip, one I will not soon forget.
