Foxburg/Allegheney River Run-2023

Please let me know if you plan to eat at the Allegheny Grille for the Foxburg Run. So we can update the restaurant on the number of people they should expect.

You can also get something to eat at Foxburg Pizza which has pizza, subs, sandwiches and salads.

Foxburg Paddle: Allegheny River (Emlenton to Parker)

Where- Emlenton Boat Launch 507 River Ave, Emlenton, PA 16373

Take out 313 N River Ave, Parker, PA 16049

Time- 10 am
Allegheny Grille Reservations are at 12 pm.
Need to be on the water by 11 am.

Skill level-Beginner/flat water.

Reservations are for 30 right now. Please let me know if you are coming and want to eat at the Allegheny Grille so we can let them know if the number will be more or less. Edit: You also have the option of eating at Foxburg Pizza which serves pizza, subs, sandwiches and salads. (Thanks to Jodi Hudak Vallecorsa for reminding me of that option.)

We will all meet at the Emlenton Boat Launch and unload. Once you have unloaded I will ask the drivers to head to Parker and wait for other drivers. Then shuttle back to the launch site once all cars are at Parker. (I will have printed copies of the directions from Emlenton to Parker for those who might not have smartphones.)

I will be the last one to leave Emlenton and catch the last shuttle. If you miss the last shuttle, you can still paddle. We will bring you back to your car. But the last shuttle will leave at about 10:30 am. We need to be on the water by 11 so we can be at the Allegheny Grille by 12.

Note- The steps behind the hotel that we usually use to get to the restaurant are closed. They have installed an impromptu docking area just past the restaurant we will use.

After we eat we usually walk around town and check out the winery, chocolate store or get ice cream. We try to regroup and paddle down to the mouth of the Clarion River. Once at the confluence of the rivers, we stop at the beach area and swim and jump off the bridge abutment. LOTS OF FUN!!!

Then we paddle the last mile and half to our vehicles.
Total mileage is 7 very easy miles.
Makes for a super fun day for all skill levels!!!!

Note-If you are unable to paddle but would still like to be a part of the day’s activities, we can use your help with shuttling. The fewer cars we bring back to the launch the better. And you can always join us for lunch at the Allegheny Grille at noon. Thanks!
