West Fork Beaver Creek
little Beaver Creek - West Fork- Steubenville Pike Rd to Beaver Creek State Park
Trip Leader-Mike Danko When-Sunday April 23rd Where-14448-14128 Steubenville Pike Rd, Lisbon, OH 44432 Parking on the side of the road to unload gear Put in is below the bridge GPS 40.69483073738496, -80.76588129841336 Time 10:30 AM Length 13 Miles Class I rapids USGS Grimms Bridge Minimal Level 4FT Please join TCT on a new section of beaver creek club trip. I have not been able to scout the section; be prepared for a portage or two. We normally paddle from Sprucevale to the Ohio River (11 Miles), but thought we would try something different. This is a long paddle but a very scenic paddle through deep valleys, wooded slopes and occasional rock formations. Due to the length of the paddle we will be meeting up early at 10:30 am and doing the shuttle soon as possible. This most likely will be a cold water paddle so dress accordingly and pack a lunch. Due to the length of the paddle we will make several stops to take breaks. Will send out an email the night before confirming the trip is a go or switching to the backup trip

Looking forward to paddling Sunday. We need somewhere (anywhere?) to paddle.
As for the picture...Copy your original. Rotate it so it's sideways. You want to have it opposite to your currant pic. Save the new file with anew name and use It to replace or update current one. Good luck.

Can’t be there
Wish I could make it on this paddle, but I’m away. Hope the West Fork gets enough water to make it runnable.

Still looking forward to this trip. It's been years since Tom, Larry and I did this one. Its 3.57 and rising now. I don't remember the level but it was definitely below 4 ft. We'll see how adventurous Mike is.

Since water levels are rising I feel we will be ok for tomorrow's adventure on the West fork of Beaver Creek. A new section for a club paddle.
Any questions please call or text me 330-766-3129 Mike Danko

Trip Review
10 paddlers in 9 kayaks & 1 Canoe paddled the West Fork of Beaver Creek. We were on the water about 5 hours before we made it to the State Park.
Water level was 4.2 ft at the USGS gauge at Grimms bridge. This long paddle was full of scenery you don't see on the other part of beaver creek. Many sycamore trees and tons of pines filled the shore line in valleys and hills with shale rock formations along the way. Many class I ripples filled the way with several scraps and bumps. We had 4 portages and one was around an old low head dam that I forgot about. (There were chute cut in the dam but were full of debris). Over all another great day on a new section for a club trip. Thanks to all who came and to Bob Danko for helping with the shuttle. Mike
