Oct. 5th-Shenango River
Due to low water on French Creek and time constraints on my part, I'm changing the run this week to the Shenango River starting at the Fish and Boat launch in West Middlesex and going to Pulaski. Please be at the launch area at the bottom of Penn St. and Campground Rd. by 11am and we will shuttle cars down to the other end.
Water level generally is good enough for a float on this section and we should be able to see some nice early fall colors. Ed

Heard through the grapevine that canoes out numbered kayaks on this trip. While Bob K(ayak) cringes at the thought , can anyone report on how the trip was otherwise?

The Shenango river made a great substitute for French Creek. 7 boats total with 9 people.(4 Canoes, 3 Kayaks)
It was a little chillier than I though it would be but it was a nice trip with that offers very scenic views and the feeling of being isolated from the world. Water was a little low, but be made it threw just fine. Afterwards Ron, Mike D, Jessica, and myself had dinner at a diner in west Middlesex and enjoyed paddle stories. Great trip Ed and good call on going with the Shenango River Mike Danko |
