Default 8-25-13 foxburg day trip

On Sunday, 25th August 2013, we will meet at our "takeout" at the state access area in Parker, PA at 9:00 am.(319 N River Ave, Parker, PA 16049 GPS 41.095681,-79.681079)

The Parker canoe shuttle service is no longer in business, so we will be handling all our own shuttling, hence the early meet for a twelve noon lunch at Foxburg. We will launch from Elmenton GPS41.176048, -79.707917. This a fast 6 mile paddle, but with lunch and swimming it makes a nice day.

I will make reservations at the foxburg grill at noon, from there we will paddle down to our swimming spot to cool off and play around and jump off the hill.

Hope to see everyone there

Mike Danko

Please email me if you are coming.
Also please give me input on if we want to do our own shuttle or use foxburg livery for 10 per person?

Default Detour ?

Mike , two weeks ago when we went on 80, Emlenton exit was closed. Has anybody been by since? You can get off one exit before,Clinton, Go north on 308 for about a mile and then go 208 to Emlenton. It might help if people drop off boats in town first , then go to Parker and only shuttle people up.

Mike and Ed, according to a friend who is from Parker, Pa the exit for Emlenton will be closed for quite some time. He said that your alternate way to get there is the easiest and best. There is major construction on the 208 hill that leads down to Emlenton. He also said there is a way to get Parker first, but it is not as easy as your suggestion.

Default From an outfitters website

From Ohio take I-80E to Exit 44. Follow signs to Emlenton 2miles. This is the second Emlenton exit-The Emlenton Hill is closed so you will be coming in on 38 which will bring you to the Main St. of town.

Default Need substitute secretary

TCT,
Since Mike wants to hold a club meeting on Sunday's Foxburg run and since I cannot be there, I'd like to ask someone to step up and serve as secretary for the meeting. Duties include: 1. reading the minutes of the previous meeting (Mike will have a hard copy); the online version of the minutes (these don't include account balances) are on the website; 2. taking notes during the meeting, paying particular attention to issues that require a vote of the members; 3. writing the minutes and placing a draft version on the website.

If a potential volunteer has any questions, please let me know. Thanks very much.

Mike, Patricia, her grandson and I will be at the GPS location you gave me, Sunday morning at 9 like you said. I looked at it on Google maps satellite view, it looks like some kind of water treatment plant or something in front of where the put-in/take-out is. Does that sound right?
