pick up whitewater this evening 8/19

An experienced friend just emailed me and said that Slippery Rock creek was low and runnable for less experienced paddlers like me. ...He plans to run the easier Eckert to Harris Bridge section, which usually yields a lot of class II and at least one class III. When I ran this section before I did not have a skirt and took in a LOT of water..You really need a skirt and helmet for this run. Current meeting place is CAL's convenience store on Rt.19 just off the I-79 Portersville, PA exit at 5 pm. We will not look for you there unless you call 724-355-8550 and let us know you are interested, because if we have other paddlers join the group we may change the meeting place or start time.
