Default Gonna bail on this one

According to my "Middle Allegheny River Water Trail Map & Guide" the suggested upper limit for canoe / kayak use is 5000 CFS and 8000 CFS for powerboats. With that being said, I think Jodi & I are going to drop out of this trip. I had definitely been looking forward to this, and hope to try it some other time. For those more daring than us, have fun and be careful.

Default Ken and Cheryl - not coming

We were looking forward to this trip but have decided due to the high and fluctuating water levels we would pass this time. We are maybe not so adventurous as some and would prefer to do this at a more relaxed pace. Plus we are over 100 miles away so it's a bit of a ride to come do a visual on the river to see how it looks. Have a safe paddle.

Talking Great Day

What a great day and trip. We had 27 people and 22 boats. (18 Kayaks & 4 Canoes)
The water was nice and flat with a current that was so easy to float. Never had to paddle hard until a good wind guest would crap my canoe.

We showed up to Foxburg 45 min early, but they told us to come on in and we all sat together. Afterward we walked around town saw all the stores.

We regrouped about 1:30 and floated down to the swimming area. That is when I knew the water was high. Are beach was under water but we still could park the boats.
Several of us swam and jumped of the bridge abutment while some paddled up the clarion river. The Allegheny was higher than the Clarion so no major was coming out of the Clarion.

Had a blast and look forward to this trip again next year. Great weather, river was just fine, excellent food and best of all great people to enjoy a great day.

I got back to my truck a hair before 4pm. Made a great day out of are trip to Foxburg.
