Take I-80 East to exit #29, Rt. 8 North (which joins up with Rt. 62). Take Rts. 8 & 62 through Franklin to Oil City, PA. Stay on Rt. 62 North (after they split) past Tidioute about 15 miles to Buckaloons Campground on the left just before Route 6. Many of us make it a three day weekend with a short trip beginning @ 11 am on Friday which will be determined by the group, (possibly from the Dam to the ball fields.) Saturday's paddle will be from Buckaloons down to Tidioute. This run will be about 15 miles or @ 5 hours on the water with lunch on your own on the river. We will meet at 10 am at Buckaloons to unload and begin the shuttle of vehicles down to Tidioute Sunday morning we will put in North of the Campgrounds, just below the Dam and paddle back to Buckaloons. This run will be about 15 miles or @ 5 hours on the water. Bring a lunch to eat on the river. We will meet at 10 am at the campgrounds before heading to the launch. We make it a "Group Effort" to plan meals at Buckaloons, so please let Mary Kane know what you can contribute. We will keep a running list and keep it posted on-line (web-site &/or Facebook). Rich and Patty have a list of what it takes for 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners. I'll bring the marinated chicken strips for grilling along with baked beans and a hash brown casserole for one night's meal. Please text or call 330-619-0190 to let Mary know you are coming and what you might be bringing. (Or you can reply on the web-site, as well.) Mary Kane

Dose anybody reserve a campsite or do folks just roll in and hope to find one?

Dianne and I rolled in last year without a reservation and had no problem getting a site. I do believe some members did make a reservation. You may want to check their reservation page and see how many sites are open for that weekend.

You can't make a reservation after Labor Day. I think there are a few of us going up Thursday evening. Bruce are you and Diane going this year?

Buckaloons Reservations
I previous years, the campground does not take reservations after Labor Day. There is a "station" just inside the gate where you get envelopes to put your money for the site you've chosen. (We all try to 'group' our sites together.) There is a "drop box" for the envelopes and a 'Ranger' makes the rounds to be sure sites are all paid for.

Mary: I plan on being there. I will arrive late Friday nite. I put a reservation in for site 37 for up to 8 people. Rich wasn't sure where he'll be as site 40 was not available for Friday. I plan to stay thru Sunday night and leave Monday.
