Looking for input on selecting new boat

After 6 years of faithful service, it may finally be time to upgrade from the entry level Old Town "Sport" that got me into kayaking in the first place. Wondered if anybody had any suggestions for a decently priced boat that is capable of handing class 2+ water.

Also, what are your thoughts on a sit on top? Was at Wind and Waterworks earlier today and they suggested a Hobie Oasis 11, which can also be used to surf the waves out at Presque Isle.
