Mahoning River - Newton Falls
I am relatively new to kayaking. I have been taking some short trips on the Mahoning. On Sunday, I went to Rotary Park in Newton Falls, and paddled upriver for about 4 miles, before turning around and coming back. At one point (just down river of mile marker 3), I had to drag / scoot my kayak over thick branches / tree trunks. There was no path around it. The trees did not look like they had recently fallen.
There were other spots with trees down, but all had paths where they could be navigated. I took one picture of the blockage and attached it to this post. |
