The put-in is very primitive and has a semi steep hill to get down, but it is very easy. There is very little parking at the put-in so we will have you drop off your gear & Passengers and head straight to Packard Park and wait for everyone else. I will be the last to arrive at Packard Park and then we will shuttle ourselves back to lovers lane.
Jessica and myself paddle this section a lot and really enjoy it. Less than a 1/4 mile from the put-in is lovers lane Rapid, an easy class I Rapid. After that the river widens up and slows down, but current does pick back up as we will paddle past the Bald eagles nest and The Otters Den by the old Copperweld Steel.
There is plenty of parking around the Packard Park Ramp. We will be upstream of the Summit dam removal. No need to worry about it affecting our paddle.
