The Grand
Save your gas Brad, the water level in the Grand is nine feet over normal levels, northern Ashtabula county received 1.4 inches of rain yesterday morning. The upper conneaut creek in PA might be navigable.

Thanks Rich. I ended up going out on Pynatuming lake which was the smart choice. The wind was kicking up 1 1/2 foot waves, big enough to have fun crashing through but not so big to crash you.
On my way down to Pynatuming I did check out Conneaut creek underneath route 7. It was roaring. Given the steepness of the gorge walls, there is little room to portage around strainers and such, so it definitely would not have been safe. Hopefully the rains will subside this week, so maybe we can try again on saturday for those people that can't make the camping trip on the Clarion. |

West Fork of Little Beaver
Although I can't paddle this weekend April 30/May1 (at it's killing me not to be able to), I bet the West Fork of Little Beaver will be running. It would be a shame to see that water go to waste.

Saturday?
I too think 70's and Sunny on Saturday dictates a paddle somewhere. West fork of Beaver Creek sounds interesting Johnathan. Surprised we haven't heard from VP Mike.

I'm game saturday for the west fork of the Little beaver. I have no idea of where to put-in. Anybody of any suggestions?
Unless brad would prefer conneaut creek. It is about 1.7ft and the little beaver is at 5.3ft Last edited by burrowsj; 04-29-2011 at 06:05 AM. |
