Default Mahoning River, Lowellville to Edinburg,Oct 13th.

This Sunday's paddle with start in Downtown Lowellville, and travel 9 miles down to Edinburg, with a stop about half way, so bring a lunch and some drinks. The address for Carchedi's Restaurant is 30 E. Water St. Lowellville, Ohio 44436.We will meet at 10:30 am SHARP, then do the shuttle,I hope to be on the water by 11:30 am, A couple local boy scout troops will be joining us with their canoes for this paddle, I will be contacting the local news, hoping they could film us floating under the Washington St. Bridge, as well as the Tribune and Vindicator. I spoke to the Mayor of Lowellville and he is at least going to see us launch as well as some councilman, also invited David Turner with First Energy hoping he would do the paddle with us? This is the Guy that made the Trestle disappear in 6 weeks, 30 semi trailers of logs, and I heard Millions of dollars later, if you get some time at least give him a call to thank him, his number 330-740-7721. I want this to be a huge event so if you got extra boats bring them if we don't need them I have a secure place to store them during the paddle,If you got friends that want to go we will find them a boat,I contacted ORE in Boardman and they want to attend and are passing the information on to their customers. Besides one spot, Their is a 99% chance that no one should fall in.Any questions give me a call Cel Phone 330-720-8074 Chuck.

Talking Time change

We get to return to our home river and enjoy a new feature on the Mahoning. If you don’t know the tressel just east of the town is now gone, and it has added a little speed to the water flow and makes this a very easy paddle with no major obstruction in the water.

We will meet on West Water Street just down from Carchedi’s Restaurant.
20 E Water St, Lowellville, OH 44436 (GPS is 41.036992,-80.537283) at 10:30am

When I am going to this put in I go threw Struthers and get on Lowellville rd and follow into town and make a left turn on to Washington St go across the river and stop at the sign and turn left onto E Water Street.

We will be taking out at Covert Crossing Bridge in Edinburg PA. This paddle is 9 miles long with some class one rapids and a small class I + maybe a class II rapid right after we paddle under the new 224 bridge .
Hope to see a big turn out for a great trip on our home river.

I might be able to get extra people- how many boats do you have access to? Also theyd be fairly new paddlers so may need assistance if there are class II rapids

It is very easy. Just paddle straight and let the current take you.
I have had many new paddlers do this section with out any trouble.

What a great trip! Thank you to all who showed up from our club, our guests and Boy Scout troop 60 from Boardman.
We started with 29 Boats (7 canoes and 22 Kayaks) then were joined by Adam and his friend half way though to make 31 total.

We had a nice story on TV21 and a nice lunch stop at the rapids at 224 bridge.
Great day, Good weather and good company made this trip.
