Paddling near Benezett Pa

Has anyone ever paddled near Benezett Pa? I'd like to do a trip sometime during the rut and see some elk on the water.

I have paddled the race at Emporium, usually on the Simminmahoning but this year it was on some lake near there, no elk but did see a bear and bear can run really fast, not at all like the bear you see on the Skyline Drive.
