Default Moonlight Paddle, Lake Milton, Fri. Aug 11 (rain date Sat. Aug 12)

Looking forward to this:
When- Friday AUGUST 11th (rain date Saturday AUGUST 12th)

Where-Sue Ramdin’s Place on Lake Milton

2898 Penn Court Lake Milton, OH 44429 (GPS tends to work well to get here)

GPS 41.077316,-80.977310

Time- 6 pm and on

Paddle Time- Around 9:30pm; Moonrise is 10:47 pm, (Perseid meteor shower peaks this weekend so eyes to the sky :)

Gear- Glow Sticks to decorate your Canoe or Kayak.

Red Lighted Head Lamps also are great.

Your BOAT or YOU MUST BE VISiBLE IN THE DARK!! But you don't want your boat SO bright that you blind your fellow paddlers.

Bring a chair and insect repellant

The club will provide hotdogs, burgers and veggie burgers. There will be iced tea and water to drink.
Between 6 & 9 pm we will do a Pot Luck Dinner. Bring a favorite dish or a favorite dessert. No set time to eat- more like a buffet style meal with a camp fire and time to relax and enjoy great company with paddling stories.
About 9:30 we will head to the lake and do a Paddle on Lake Milton and head south where the lake turns back into the Mahoning River. We will paddle as far as we like and some will attempt to make it to the Berlin Dam, then turn around and head back to Sue’s.

About a five mile paddle is what to expect if you go all the way to the Berlin Dam and back.
After the paddle we can hang out by the fire, and maybe eat again so plan on a late night if you'd like.

If anyone wants to pitch a tent in the yard or throw a bag on the floor in the house that would be fine.

If anyone can bring firewood that would be a big help- the stuff we have available is way too rotten.

Sue

Default Weather for Friday...

It's looking like it might rain Friday- 60% chance right now. We'll wait to decide to change it to Sat for a few more days...

Default Where is the put in

I may have some difficulty making it to the pre-paddle activities, but will still try to make the paddle. Where do you put in at (if I end up going directly there) and is 9:30 still a good time? Thanks

We will have the paddle on Friday for 2 reasons:
1) the moon rises earlier on Friday than Sat
2) Steve's paddle on Lake Wilhelm is an early morning one Sunday and the moonlight paddle is generally a late one
At this point rain chance is 50%. We'll hope for the best and still have a good time!

The put in is roughly where Penn Court intersects with Dockside. You'll see all the activity. Using the house address in GPS will get you to where you need to be. 9:30 should be fine. See you then!

Wink Moonlight Run

Sue,
I will also bring firewood. I have a tub of it which has been drying for about two months or more. Hope to see you Friday.

I am unable to make tonight's paddle. for several reason, My truck is in the shop, and I tried putting a kayak on my work car but the roof didn't like that even with foam blocks and tie downs.

Might stop by to say hello.
