Where-Thomas Swift Metro Park 870 Benedict-Leavittsburg Road, Leavittsburg, OH 44430

GPS 41.239342, -80.917760

Time 1pm

Due to Covid-19 Allegheny Grill can't accommodate our needs. So I decided to move the trip to our home river, the Mighty Mahoning River!! This is our 45th year and it will be nice to do part of the state water trail that the club set out to do 45 years ago.
Bring a lunch or snack and we can sit around after the paddle and have a little picnic

###NOTE-Because of Mahoning River Adventures we will unload at the ramp but park at the upper parking lot, so we don't block their access to the ramp and turn around area for their bus!!!!!!

Please post on site if you plan on attending
or text me 330-766-3129

Default Picnic

Mark and I talked and since he has all the food for the picnic that we had to cancel.
We are going to do an impromptu picnic after the paddle.
The club will have burgers and hotdogs and all paper plates and utensils.

Mark and I will bring our pop up tents and tables. (if you have some, bring them a long)
There is no electricity at Thomas Swift Park , but I can use my dc converter to be able to use one or two crock pots to keep burgers and dog warm.

Bring any chips or what you like to drink.

We will also try to have a quick meeting after the paddle.

Please Post or text me if you plan on coming

Default Trip Review

What a gorgeous day to be out paddling. Temps in the 70's partly cloudy and a great river.
We met up at Thomas Swift Metro Park and did a up and back paddle first. We had 15 paddlers in 15 boats (13 Kayaks & 2 Canoe's)
The Mahoning Gauge at Leavittsburg was 4.88 ft. & at Pricetown 2.43 ft.

We paddled a total of 4.96 miles for the up and back and had 2 members seen a river otter.
After the paddle about 11 of us stayed for a impromptu picnic and meeting.

We also had a nice surprise as Ed Rigby came out to see us at Swift Park. He was out riding his bike and made the trip out to cook and eat. Thanks Ed for cooking!!

A great day on my favorite river with great people. Can't ask for much more
Mike
