Deer Creek Reservoir
Deer Creek Reservoir
Trip Leader-Mike Danko When-Sunday September 13th Where- Deer Creek Reservoir 14514 Price St NE, Alliance, OH 44601 GPS 40.974861, -81.121028 Time 1pm Unfortunately Bruce and Diane are unable to lead the Cuyahoga river trip. Then with all the covid safety we decided to move the trip. Since we were headed westward into Ohio I figured we still would with one of the nicer reservoirs we have. We can paddle up and to the tunnels and if there is enough water we can paddle through two really cool tunnels that lead back into the creek. Hope for a nice turn out and please post on the website if you plan on paddling. Thanks Mike

Deer Creek
Looking forward to this one but please arrange for better weather next weekend. What you delivered today will not be acceptable.

dealing with rain
Hey Stan,
As of Friday 7:30pm it doesn't look too good for Sunday... But... You still have time to rig up an electric bilge pump. Or a beach umbrella. Hopefully the timing of any rain will change. KenM |

I've never been to this reservoir, so I'm hoping the weather forecast improves.

Deer Creek Reservoir
Well Ken,
I've already got the drain holes knocked through the bottom so the rain water should run out. Right now my biggest concern is rigging up an effective lightning rod since this is basically boating on a lake. We get too far from the trees to use them effectively. May have to try a fishing pole.

lightning rods
A couple of years ago, on a Tionesta overnight trip, we got a spell with some thunder-boomers & lightning. The group ganged up against some overhanging trees. When Cheryl and I came in close everyone was hollering "No, No, Go, Away, Go Away".
We were paddling the Grumman. |

Deer Creek:
As always, too many choices! Tennis? Kayaking? What? I would love to do the Deer Creek, as it is great fun to go through the tunnels. But I am reluctant to go out on a possibly rainy day and get drenched, etc. Sorry!
