Default Mahoning Water Trail Trimming

on friday the 13th after work, Jessica and I went and trimmed the Mahoning River State Water Trail from Rotary Park to Swift Park. This Seven mile stretch is now all clear except one blockage at 6.5 mile mark. The rest has several paths for one canoe at a time.

Today the 14th I am going back to the one major blockage with my chainesaw to clear it.

Once I am done with that log it will be clear from mile marker 6 (rotary park) to mile mark 14, where there is a nother blockage. I might do that today if I am not to tired.
If I do then the trail would be clear from rotary to packard park.

Default Foster

Mike, I was on the Trumbull Metro Parks website and it said Foster Park was closed until futher notice. What's going on up there, you know?
Also, I'd be free to help tomorrow morning if you still need help. That or some other run just to get out. Gotta be back mid afternoon though. Call or send a message.

Sorry I missed your message Ed. I had to work in the morning.

We got the log jam cleared up between mile 6 and 7, and just past mile 14.
While we were at the first jam between mile 6 & 7 a Newton Falls resident came up and thanked us for clearing the river. He lives on the river and has paddled it for the last 20 years. He was so excited to see us keeping it clear.

At this time Rotary park (Mile 6) to the end of the trail at Packard Park is clear and passable. Some sections are only wide enough for a canoe and others are clear shore to shore.

Yes Foster Park is closed for two reasons, first; is the culvert collapsed in the parking lot and the 2nd is the new ramp.
